I’m currently a Postdoctoral Fellow and instructor in the Philosophy Department of the University of Cincinnati. My research is in Ancient Greek Philosophy, especially themes in Aristotle’s metaphysics and physics. In one set of papers, I defend what I call Aristotle’s pluralism about causality and priority. In another set of papers, I investigate Aristotle’s conception of matter and, relatedly, Plato’s conception of space as the Receptacle in the Timaeus.

In addition to these projects, I am working on papers which highlight how Metaphysics Iota, particularly Aristotle’s analysis of Oneness, or ‘the One’ (to hen), bears on other central issues in Aristotle’s Metaphysics. Throughout my research, I explore how Plato and Aristotle respond to early Greek philosophy, in particular to premises that are seen as Eleatic and Heraclitean.
